Engage, educate, and inspire – a shared objective of the Galway Atlantaquria and Cell Explorers that underpinned the co-creation of a wonderful Night in the Aquarium for over 40 young scientists.

Young people participating in a hands-on activity at the aquarium!
On Friday, 26th May four Youth Groups from Foróige and Westside Youth Project held the figurative keys to the Aquarium for a night – the Aquarium was closed to the public and it became theirs! Young people who had previously participated in the Science Club descended upon the aquarium for guided tours, hands-on activities, food, photos, and fun. The engagement and excitement were contagious!

A group on tour!
Science Club is a program developed on the ethos that science is for everyone. It is a 5-week program where young people, in their youth centers, engage in a series of hands-on STEM activities guided by local Cell EXPLORERS scientists. Science Club aims to value and empower young people. Collaboration has always been at the heart of Science Club, and we are delighted about the opportunity to work with the Aquarium. Thank you to the Aquarium for having us and for guiding these young people in continued discovery!

This gentle shift toward tech-based support may encourage youth to open-up at their own pace, especially when in-person help feels too heavy to approach.
There is always a chance that these tools-quietly make support feel closer than before, creating moments where help appears just a tap away. Even a small digital interaction might bring a sense of comfort. And somewhere in that space, you…
Detailed and practical, this guide explains concrete rebar in a way that feels approachable without oversimplifying. The step by step clarity is especially useful for readers new to the subject.
