First Annual Volunteer Celebration

The School of Biological and Chemical Sciences invited volunteers to the first annual Volunteer Celebration on the 10th of April.

All Cell Explorers and Kitchen Chemistry volunteers with over 10 hours of volunteer experience were invited to attend, and received a certificate and gift card to thank them for their contributions over the academic year.

Many of the volunteers spoke about their experiences volunteering in outreach and public engagement. It was inspiring to hear from their perspective!

We also screened a short film about Cell Explorers Fantastic DNA which included interviews with CE volunteers (watch it here!).

We would like to thank our head of school Padraig Hynes and administration assistant Nora Buckbee for organising this event, and of course a massive thank you to all of the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences volunteers!
