The Cork Carnival of Science is a major public outdoor event organised by Cork County Council and held in a city-centre park. Activities run in marquees and stalls of various sizes. The event takes place annually on the second weekend of June and attracts several thousand visitors.

This year, seven members of the Galway team, led by experienced team leader Kate Ryan (also an alumna of Fantastic DNA in primary school!), travelled to Cork to join the Cell Explorers teams from MTU Cork and UCC. Together, they delivered the Fantastic DNA workshop to 500 participants over two days.
Cell Explorers has offered the Fantastic DNA workshop at the Carnival since 2022. The activity is frequently run with families at science festivals nationwide and is suitable for children aged 8+.
