ReelLife Science 2016 has been announced!

ReelLIFE SCIENCE 2016, run by our friend Enda O'Connell, is giving €3000 to Irish schools for the best science videos!

ReelLIFE SCIENCE is looking for teachers and students with a passion for science, who can communicate a science topic via an entertaining and engaging short video. These can be live action, animated, or even made with a smartphone.

This year topics include The Heart, Life in Space, Science and Me, Our Many Senses and The Science of Farming for Primary Schools. Secondary School Topics are The Brain, Myths Busted! How Things Work, Irish Science Heroes and Everyday Biotechnology !

Video submissions closing date is Friday October 14th and results will be announced during Science week in November.

This year again we will contribute to ReelLife Science by providing keen judging volunteers. Enda has once more convinced a fantastic lineup of people to participate in the final judging panel, including RTÉ broadcaster and science enthusiast Rick O'Shea, University College London neuroscientist and Royal Society Fellow Prof. Eleanor Maguire, and BT Young Scientist & Technologists of the Year 2016, Maria Louise Fufezan and Diana Bura from Loreto Secondary School, Balbriggan.

ReelLIFE SCIENCE is supported by NUI Galway, Science Foundation Ireland, CÚRAM Centre for Research in Medical Devices, Cell Explorers, Galway Science & Technology Festival and Irish Science Teachers Association.

Check the ReelLife Science website for more information on the competition.
