The Cell EXPLORERS research team go to ESERA17!

August 22, 2017

The European Science Education Research Association (ESERA) conference is taking place in Dublin City University this year and our NUI Galway-based research team made of Sarah Carroll, Dr Claudia Fracchiolla and Dr Muriel Grenon, is attending!

ESERA2017 is being hosted by both Dublin City University (DCU) and University of Limerick (UL) on DCU campus. It is one of the largest international education research conference with 1522 attendees from 75 different countries.

The theme of the conference is ‘Research, practice and collaboration in science education’ and the programme showcases a staggering 1246 presentations between the 21st and the 25th of August. These include 683 Oral , 344 symposium, 203 poster, 12 workshop and 4 keynote presentations. All communications have been peer reviewed before by 293 reviewers, to make this amazing programme with many themes of high interest to our  activities! You can check the conference programme here.

On Thursday the 24th at 3pm, Muriel, our founding director and PI of our research group, will be presenting our work at the poster session 12-3-1. The poster reports on the work carried out by our teams in 2016.

Our Poster is also being displayed all week as part of a poster exhibition of European Projects since we are a Scientix project. Scientix is the European community for Science Education in Europe.

We would like to take the opportunity to thank all our coordinators, team members, School children and teachers who worked with us and made the programme a success and this presentation possible.

We are looking forward to what is forecast to be an insightful week of learning, sharing and collaborating with other science education researchers who are as passionate about advancing STEM education research as we are!

If you want to see our thoughts, first impressions and favourite snaps of the conference as the week goes on, you can follow us on twitter on @cellexplorers and @SarahLRCarroll, and follow @ESERA2017 and the hash tag #ESERA2017.
