St Patrick Festival - Cell EXPLORERS & Kitchen Chemistry are going to the Big Day Out!

Two NUI Galway Outreach programmes from the College of Science have been invited to take part in the BIG DAY OUT organised by the St Patrick Festival on the 20th of March. We are delighted to be one of these programmes!

Next Sunday from 12 noon to 6pm, Merrion Square will be transformed "for this exciting day-long carnival, bursting with energy, colour and whimsical antics". It will be an opportunity for families to engage in exciting experiences and cool learning activities, including with Science!

The SFI Science Zone will let budding young scientists experiment hands on science.

Perfect! That's what we know best! We will run a double marquee with two interactice workshops: "Little Cells" for the 4-8 years old, and "Fantastic DNA" for the 7+ years old. 500 children will have a chance to take part in one of our 6 sessions so make sure you find us there to make your own cells or learn how to prepare DNA yourself!

Our friends from Kitchen Chemistry will be around the corner and will take you through their brand new set of experiments!

We are getting ready for the big day and cannot wait to get the party started!

The team will be made of NUI Galway Cell EXPLORERS Claire, Nancy, Anna, Ben, Ciara, Cahal, Aisling, Ivor, Muriel and AIT Cell EXPLORERS Emma and Andrew!

See you there!
