Scientist for a Day - Take 2!!

Yesterday saw the second Scientist for a Day workshop run in NUI Galway with 40 young budding scientists enjoying a taste of life in the lab! Scientist for a Day is a collaborative initiative between Kitchen Chemistry, Cell EXPLORERS and Eco-EXPLORERS. During the workshop children do some fun chemistry experiments, extract DNA from banana cells and get up close to exotic animals such as tarantulas, millipedes and snakes! The first workshop was run during mid term break last October and was a great success, prompting a repeat this semester. Both these events booked out quickly. Next up will be Easter Camp run over the Easter holidays, if you are interested get in touch, places are sure to fill fast!
