Our programme runs on a unique, sustainable model where University of Galway staff and students, on a voluntary basis or as part of their degree, are involved in public engagement. 

 

This gives the dual benefit of engaging children and the general public whilst also facilitating the training of tomorrow’s science communicators.

 

The sustainability of the model is achieved by the involvement of a large team of volunteers, the integration of science outreach into the curriculum, and the development of fee paying activities such as holiday and revision camps, which allow income to be generated to fund outreach activities.
