Cell EXPLORERS Limerick IT
The Cell EXPLORERS Limerick IT team was established in May 2019. The team is based in the department of Applied Science at LIT et was developed through collaboration with Dr. Marie Walsh. You can learn more about the department of Applied Science here.
The team is bringing the 2019 Fantastic DNA School Roadshow to primary schools around Limerick starting in September and will run more school visits around Science Week 2019.

Marie Walsh and Siobhan Curtin are the two coordinators of the LIT team. Their team of volunteers will be engaging and inspiring primary school children around Limerick, teaching them about DNA and mentoring them on how to prepare DNA in their own classrooms!
Dr. Siobhán Curtin
Lecturer, Department of Applied Science
Dr. Siobhán Curtin is a lecturer in Instrumental Analysis and Quality Management in the Applied Science Department at LIT. A graduate of the University of Limerick, she was awarded a B.Sc. (Ed) in Biological Sciences with chemistry and a PhD from the Department of Life Sciences. Siobhán, one of LIT Cell EXPLORERScoordinators, is also a researcher on the Erasmus+ funded MathE project. She is involved in a number of outreach initiatives at LIT. One of her main research interests is in the area of STEM Education.
